Vs.

9th Free World’s Legionnaires

4 Platoons SRM Infantry - Destroyed
4 Platoons Laser Infantry - Destroyed
Union Class Dropship - Defense Turrets Destroyed

Summary:

In a night raid, Epsilon Infantry Division of the Argent Shadows infiltrated the Drop port and began to overtake the Union class ship, Impervious. The Legion infantry fought hard and with the combined might of the Union’s turret mounted weapons, had managed to destroy two squads of mercenary infantry. The remaining troops hunkered down in the buildings around the dropship and reorganized.

Luckily for the Shadows, a Grasshopper BattleMech from Olson’s Rangers was also in the vicinity. The mech’s firepower took out most of the turrets while Hunter’s Achileus battlesuits joined Cabrera and Vandervaart’s squads to get inside the Impervious. A nasty firefight erupted in the hallway leading to the bridge, nearly killing every man in Vandervaart’s squad. The Achileus squad got through, but all four armor suits took crippling damage and were rendered inoperable. Cabrera’s squad finished securing the dropship and before long, the takeover was complete. When the remaining lance of the Legionnaires arrived and shutdown for lift-off, they had no idea that their mechs would soon become mercenary and Capellan property.

With the loss of their dropship and no mechs remaining from their 2nd Battalion, the 9th Legionnaires retreated back to Sadumi to report their failure.

Things returned to a normal condition green as the Argent Shadows packed their salvage and returned to Sigma Mare to finish out their retainer contract. They had lost Jenny Clark’s tank crew, most of Epsilon Division, and two mechs. Thankfully they had more than enough salvage to offset the losses and repair the battle damage sustained in the brief campaign. The Capellan Confederation was extremely pleased when Major Nelson handed over control of the Impervious to them. In return for the generous gift, Sian District Logistical Chief Xiang Liang-Liao, gave the Argent Shadows a brand new PXH-4L Phoenix Hawk and RVN-4L Raven, along with tons of supplies.

Meanwhile, Olson’s Rangers recovered enough salvage to bring their ragtag unit back up to 2 companies strength. Captain Fiona Schtaffel officially took command after Major Rain’s forced retirement from injuries during the battle to defend the Olson HQ. Her first priority was to send a diplomat to Duke George Hasek and get back Colonel Nicolas Olson. To this date, he still remains a POW.

RUMBLE!
Default Re: Btech: The D/Monix

(Looking for feedback. Which contract should we take?)

Also, I've attached the MegaMek camo patterns for the 9th Free World's Legionnaires (same as the 7th), the Argent Shadows and Olson's Rangers. If you want to play through any battles with the three units, you can use these. Anyways, here are the contracts....

Contract Offers:

Lyran Alliance – Extraction Raid on Kimball II (DC)
Employer Negotiator Skill Target = 6
Bargaining Pool = 104
Length of Service: 1 month
Payment: 286,881 * (6.7) = 1,922,103 per month) = 1,922,103
Command Rights: Liaison
Overhead Rights: Full
Salvage Rights: Full
Support Rights: 100% Straight
Transport Rights: Full
Signing Bonus: 96,105
Mercenary Review and Bonding Commission Handling Fee: 5% = Northwind N/A
Up Front Payment for Transportation, Signing Bonus, and Salaries: 96,105
Remainder: 1,982,113 per month (1,744,182 after non covered salaries and maintenance)

Baron Andrew DePalma was taken by the Draconis Combine. We need him back. He was a stabilizing presence on Rigil Kentaurus who had assuaged the fears of many citizens. Due to the close proximity to Terra, the populace had staged many protests over the massive Comstar presence on planet. DePalma had been successful in deflecting those protests into support for House Steiner and Victor in particular. We’re not exactly sure why Kurita wanted him, other than to destabilize the region, but we will offer you a bonus if you can find out.

Capellan Confederation – Recon Raid on Conquista (FWL)
Employer Negotiator Skill Target = 5
Bargaining Pool = 109
Length of Service: 1 month
Payment: 286,881 * (6.7) = 1,922,103 per month) = 1,922,103
Command Rights: Liaison
Overhead Rights: Full
Salvage Rights: 55%
Support Rights: 100% Straight
Transport Rights: Full
Signing Bonus: 9,611
Mercenary Review and Bonding Commission Handling Fee: 5% = Northwind N/A
Up Front Payment for Transportation, Signing Bonus, and Salaries: 9,611
Remainder: 1,982,113 per month (1,744,182 after non covered salaries and maintenance)

You have impressed us with your success from the last contract. The Capellan Confederation is ready to use your services once again. Your mission will be in the Conquista system. Your objective is not to take the planet, but to assess the strength of the defenders. We will then unleash our elite units upon the Anduriens, who will cower in fear of our might. Xin Sheng! Xin Sheng!

Federated Suns – Objective Raid on Pinard (TC)
Employer Negotiator Skill Target = 4
Bargaining Pool = 114
Length of Service: 1 month
Payment: 286,881 * (6.5) = 1,922,103 per month) = 1,864,727
Command Rights: Liaison
Overhead Rights: Full
Salvage Rights: 100%
Support Rights: 100% Straight and 50% Battle Loss Compensation
Transport Rights: Full
Signing Bonus: 102,560
Mercenary Review and Bonding Commission Handling Fee: 5% = Northwind N/A
Up Front Payment for Transportation, Signing Bonus, and Salaries: 102,560
Remainder: 1,864,727 per month (1,626,796 after non covered salaries and maintenance)

The Taurian Concordat has always been a thorn in our side, but now they’re really getting prickly. They’ve already taken three worlds from us and look to add a second wave to their invasion. We need you to stem the tide. A weapons manufacturing plant on Pinard is rumored to be producing advanced tech weapons. How they came up with the capability to make these weapons is still a question mark. We will pay a bonus to you if you can track down the answer.
